Childhood and Predebut

Ruka was born in Japan on Mar 20, 2002, as an only child. From 2016 to 2018, prior to debuting with BABYMONSTER, Ruka promoted as a member of Shibu3 Project, a Japanese girl group, under the Blue Class sub-unit. She was the lead hip-hop dancer in the group.

In 2018, at 16, she passed the audition with YG Entertainment. During training, she was praised for her strong dancing skills, which she had been mastering for 10 years. She trained for 4-5 years before her debut with BABYMONSTER.
