D1CE (디원스; pronounced deeh once) is a five-member South Korean boy group under Happy Face Entertainment. The group debuted on August 1st, 2019 with 5 members: Yonggeun, Hyunsoo, Yoojun, Woodam, and Jinyoung.

Prior to debut, the group was previously known as HNB (Happy Face Next Boy) under HF Music Company. Former members included Jeong Woncheol, Park Hyungjin, Lee Jongmin, Jo Yooncheol, Yoon Jaehee, Won Hyunsik, Kim Junhyeong, Koseuke, and Kim Jungwoo. HNB had released 2 singles I’m Your Light in 2017 and You Are So Beautiful in 2018.

D1CE is composed of five members born between 1995 and 1997. D1CE’s leader and oldest member is Yonggeun (born January 1995). D1CE’s maknae is Jinyoung (born May 1997).

All of the final members participated in survival shows prior to debut. Yoojun participated in Boys24 in 2016. Woodam, Jinyoung, Yongeeun, and Woncheol (former member) participated in Produce 101 in 2017. In that same year Hyunsoo, Jinyoung, Yonggeun along with other HNB former members were contestants in MIXNINE. Woodam was the only member that did not pass the audition for the show while Jinyoung finished MIXNINE in 1st place. In 2019, Jinyoung also participated in the rap competition Show Me The Money 8 but was eliminated on the second round.

Their name D1CE was decided via fan vote. The other name choices were The Thing, J1GG, Be Be, IVI, and VP.
D1CE (디원스) means DICE + The Once, Leader. Dice is related to the visual concept of the groups. D1CE is pronounced similarly as The Once, which means to become the first and foremost player in the music industry.
D1CE’s leader and oldest member is Yonggeun (born January 1995).
