BTS (방탄소년단; short for Bangtan Boys) is a seven-member South Korean boy group under Big Hit Entertainment. Considered one of the most successful K-pop groups of all time, BTS formed in 2010 and debuted on Jun 13, 2013. The seven members of BTS are: Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.
BTS means bulletproof boy scouts in Korean (Bangtan Sonyeondan). The name represents their goal to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that are aimed on adolescents like bullets.

Jin is the oldest member of BTS. His position is sub-vocalist but he is also the official visual member of the group. Jin was scouted by Big Hit Entertainment while walking the streets of South Korea. He initially auditioned to be an actor but later transitioned to becoming an idol trainee. Prior to becoming an idol, he studied in Australia as an exchange student. He debuted with BTS at the age of 21. He stands at a height of 179 cm (5’11”) and has an estimated weight of 63 kg (139 lbs).

Suga is the second oldest member of BTS. He originally joined Big Hit Entertainment as a music producer. His name Suga comes from the first syllables of the term “shooting guard”, which was the position he played in his basketball team when he was a student. Suga was 20 years old (international age) when he made his debut with BTS in June 2013. He is an introvert with an MBTI of INTP. Despite being one of the shortest member of BTS, Suga’s height is 174 cm (5’9”), which is about the average for Korean men.

Jungkook is the youngest and the most popular member of BTS. He is also the main vocalist of the group. Jungkook was inspired to start singing after he came across a video of RM rapping. And coincidentally it was around the same time when Bang Si Hyuk was doing Star Audition – The Great Birth and that’s how Jungkook ended up with Big Hit Entertainment.
